When more dogs arrive than we can get out in a timely manner, our longest residents become URGENT. Often these are larger breed dogs that we adore but have simply been at the shelter too long with little to no interest from rescues, adopters, or fosters. When dogs are marked urgent, we could lose them at any time with little to no notice.

Alina - URGENT DUE TO TIME AT SHELTER
8/15/24 Intake: boxer/terrier mix, 34 lbs, 1-2 yrs old, female, HW+, stray. Alina and her pups (Ax4) were found dumped at someone’s home off of Butters Ave in Hartsville. One pup had sadly passed away before getting to the shelter. Mom and pups did well for intake. Mom is heartworm positive.
More about Alina Jan 13, 2025: ALINA, a young 1 year 4 month old, 40lb, heart worm positive boxer/terrier mix arrived in mid August with her 4 puppies. They were abandoned, and a Good Samaritan had them picked up by Animal Control. Alina’s puppies all found homes, but Alina is still looking for a home and family of her own. Dog friendly, walks nicely on a leash, and loves attention from volunteers. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to pack her bags. Alina was so happy to get out of her kennel to meet other dogs in the play yard. She was happy to do some zoomies and then hang out with the other dogs and our volunteers. She’s a nice size, walks well on a leash, very polite meeting other dogs, and has the cutest markings and smile. She’s ready to leave shelter life behind and be loved and cared for like she took care of her family. She's a young, happy gal looking to enjoy life and be a loving companion; ask for her today!
