Adults L-R

(1+ Yrs.)

When more dogs arrive than we can get out in a timely manner, our longest residents become URGENT. Often these are larger breed dogs that we adore but have simply been at the shelter too long with little to no interest from rescues, adopters, or fosters. When dogs are marked urgent, we could lose them at any time with little to no notice.

Lauren - URGENT DUE TO TIME AT SHELTER - (trial adoption 12/13/24) - $135 towards adoption or $200 towards rescue pull fees

5/9/24 Intake: lab/shepherd mix, 41 lbs, 3 yrs old, female, HW+, stray. Lauren arrived with Layla. Both are very sweet girls. Both Heartworm positive.

More about Lauren Oct 8, 2024: Beautiful, friendly Lauren is in need of rescue or adoption. She arrived with friend Layla as a stray in May. Lauren is a 3 year old 41lb lab/shepherd? mix that is dog friendly, walks nicely on a leash, and loves volunteer attention. 😀SMILE😀 that’s Lauren, always smiling. She’s happy to give and get love from volunteers, her tail in constant motion. Lauren has met both male and female dogs in the play area and has done well. She loves rolling in the grass and scratching her back, living in the moment and taking advantage of her time out of her kennel. Such a beauty, with her smile, her ears, happy tail and beautiful markings, she’s sure to turn heads. Lauren hopes to find her family soon.

More about Lauren Dec 9, 2024: It’s hard to believe Lauren is still waiting for rescue or adoption. She arrived in May and is a sweet, friendly 3 year old heart worm positive lab/shepherd mix. Lauren lives at Bridge where volunteers adore her, but she deserves more than living in a concrete kennel, especially now that the 🥶 cold weather has moved in. This past weekend she day tripped with some volunteers and ran in a 5k race, Wiggle 2 The Finish, meeting lots of new friends and greeting everyone with her smiling face. Lauren is dog friendly, walks great on a leash, and is simply stunning.

Leila - URGENT DUE TO TIME AT SHELTER

8/26/24 Intake: terrier mix, 43 lbs, 2 yrs old, female, HW+, stray. Leila and her pups (Lx4) came in together as strays.

More about Leila Nov 21, 2024: LEILA, 2 year old, 42lb heart worm positive terrier mix is ready for rescue or adoption. Arriving in August with 4 pups, she did a great job raising her family, who have gone on to homes of their own. Leila is a spunky gal. She adores playing with other dogs and would welcome having a like minded doggy friend to spend her days with. She is a beautiful black and white, affectionate, smiley faced sweetie who deserves a family of her own. Looking at Leila’s videos you can see she’s a younger Mom who has plenty of spunk and happily engaged with both Chandler and Isabella. Chandler’s play style was a match for her, lots of good natured romping. Isabella preferred to roll on the ground and let Leila try to coax her to get up and play. Leila, after trying to convince her to get up, decided she’d just get down on Isabella’s level to continue the fun. Who can help this pretty girl?

Leon

6/13/24 Intake: lab mix, 32 lbs, 1 yr old, male, HW-, stray. Leon, 1-year-old lab mix, was brought in by animal control after being found on Stanley Circle in Darlington. He has been gradually warming up to the staff. Additionally, Leon tested negative for heartworms.

Foster Update Aug 4, 2024: Leon needs some TLC. I'm learning more about him every day. He did slip his collar and got away from me, but he has stayed in my yard. He loves to play with all my dogs. He became spooked by one of my dogs and ran away, yelping with his tail between his legs. Another 1 of my dogs inadvertently smacked him in the face with her tail. He yelped and jumped back. He is very tender hearted. He will need a slow hand and another calm confident dog to help him feel safe. My greatest fear is that he will be lost by a foster or an adopter who does not know how to manage a fearful dog. He is cute as a button, weighing in right at 30 pounds.
