When more dogs arrive than we can get out in a timely manner, our longest residents become URGENT. Often these are larger breed dogs that we adore but have simply been at the shelter too long with little to no interest from rescues, adopters, or fosters. When dogs are marked urgent, we could lose them at any time with little to no notice. 

Elizabeth Bennet

8/15/24 Intake: terrier mix, 62 lbs, 2 yrs old, female, HW-, stray. Super sweet girl who did very well with intake. Loves pets and knows sit.

Elvira

9/20/24 Intake: border terrier mix, 41 lbs, 3 yrs old, female, HW+, abandoned. Elvira and Britney were brought in by animal control. They were abandoned at a property. They both did well for intake. Elvira- heartworm positive.

Emmylou

7/22/24 Intake: hound mix, 49 lbs (thin), 2 yrs old, female, HW+, stray. Emmylou came in with Rosemary. These two sweet girls were brought in as stray surrenders found off of Rainbow View Road in McBee. The young woman who found them kept them for a few weeks. They came in underweight. Emmylou is heartworm positive.

Foster Update Aug 11, 2024: Emmylou loves to go for car rides with our dog, Shiloh! They really enjoy playing together. Emmylou is a GREAT girl with good house manners. She is always smiling with lots of wiggles and waggles. She is very easygoing, quiet, sweet, and loving. My sister is fostering her mom, Rosemary, who is also just as great. They are absolutely fine separated, but if someone might be looking to adopt two awesome hounds, look no further.

Eric

7/1/24 Intake: lab mix, 36 lbs, 1 yr old, male, HW-, stray. Derek and Eric, both one-year-old lab mixes, were found together and brought in by animal control from East Old Camden Road in Hartsville. They both did well during intake and tested negative for heartworms.

Ernie 

4/8/24 Intake: lab mix, 53 lbs, 3 yrs old, male, HW-, stray. Ernie came in with Bert. These boys were shy and could benefit from a foster home.

More about Ernie Jul 30, 2024: Meet Ernie. He came in with his best friend Bert, and he’s depended on him for comfort and confidence. Ernie has made wonderful progress being open and trusting with people and is ready to find a home willing to be patient for the reward of helping him be wholly trusting. Ernie will bond with his family, eventually knowing he no longer needs to be shy and can love fully. Ernie gets along with dogs just fine and will take notes from another confident dog. He has a wonderful smile that will make you light up seeing his personality come through. Ernie is a Lab mix, good around cats, around 3 years old, 38 pounds, and Heartworm negative - he’s ready to go home.
