9/13/24 Intake: lab mix, 45 lbs, 1.5 yrs old, female, HW-, stray. Shakira was brought in as a stray by a community member. She had been hanging around her house for about a week off of North Main Street. Per the woman who surrendered her, she does well with people. She also stated she did well with her dogs and some stray cats that were also hanging around. Shakira is heartworm negative.

More about Shakira Feb 6, 2025: Shakira is available for rescue or adoption! She arrived as a stray in September and has been such a good girl, waiting patiently for someone to notice her. She’s a 1 1/2 year old heart worm negative, 55? lb lab mix that adores her people and is fantastic with other dogs. Her finder said she was good with her teenagers, her dogs, and did not bother her cats. Shakira is a ️ROCK STAR️ when meeting other dogs, both male and female and all ages. She was playful with the younger dogs and enjoyed hanging out with those less playful. She loves people and takes advantage of any snuggles she can get. Such a sweetheart! Shakira made a wonderful tester dog for the evaluation team. We can’t rave enough at how good she is. Look at her videos and see for yourself! Can you help this pretty girl find a home? Paws Around the Pee Dee Feb 15, 2025: "Shakira was my PALentine date for a fieldtrip around Hartsville with Paws Around the Pee Dee. She needed a lift into the truck, then she rode well. She will easily get the hang of loading into your truck with practice. She enjoyed walking around town and sniffing here, there, and everywhere. She greeted anyone she met nicely and was attracted to kids and other dogs. She's a rockstar at playing with the dogs at the shelter. She adjusts her energy to who she's playing with or hanging out with at the time. She was excited about this date and observing all the happenings, so she didn't care much for treats as she enjoyed going and doing. Though she has plenty of energy, she also calms well. She happily settled right beside me to sit, chill, and snuggle at any time. She is a pretty black lady that is always photo ready. She's heartworm negative, not quite 2 years old, and around 50lbs. It was a pleasure taking this great lady out on the town."
